National Doughnut Week 2024 Date Announcement

National Doughnut Week will take place 18th-26th May 2024

National Doughnut Week 2023 was a great success with a total of £43,050.50 raised for The Children’s Trust. In total the fundraising week has now raised £588,344 for the charity which delivers rehabilitation, education and community services through skilled teams who work with children and young people and their families.

All the funds raised through the week go directly to the charity and this year bakers including Bird’s Bakery in the East Midlands raised £10,125  and cafés, bistros, delis and lots of other small businesses from around the country took part and supported the week with a whole host of delicious doughnut creations.

On the back of this year’s success, National Doughnut Week will take place 18th-26th May 2024.

The charity week, sponsored by CSM Ingredients, was launched in 1992 by Christopher Freeman, co-owner of Dunns Bakery. Since then, he has gone to raise £1,103,541 in total. Every year 40,000 children in the UK are left with a brain injury as a result of an accident or illness and it can be devastating – they may no longer be able to walk, talk, stand, sit, or feed themselves – sometimes all of these abilities. The Children’s Trust aims to help rebuild as many of their skills as possible, as well as their self-esteem.

Miriam Bernhart, Director Category Bread & Pastry Solutions at CSM Ingredients comments:

“We want to say a huge thank you to every business that took part in National Doughnut Week 2023 and helped to make it a great success. We encourage even more bakers to take part in 2024 and help raise vital funds for The Children’s Trust. Every penny raised goes directly to the charity to help them carry on their important work.”

Mike Holling, Sales & Marketing Director, from Birds Bakery added:

“National Doughnut Week is a great opportunity for Craft Bakers to promote their business or launch a new Doughnut line  and at the same time raise funds for the Children’s Trust who are an amazing charity. The support kit you receive from the sponsors really helps to promote National Doughnut week, all you have to do is sign up it is that easy. Birds bakery will definitely be supporting NDW in 2024.”

All administration costs for the week are covered by the sponsors.

THE CHILDREN’S TRUST

We provide therapeutic support to children across the UK via our Brian Injury Community Service.Typically, these children and young people no longer require intensive therapy or rehabilitation, but would benefit from some level of therapeutic support as they may have a combination of cognitive, communication and behavioural difficulties. Our Information Service, which consists of the Brain Injury Hub website and our publications, reaches families mainly in the UK, but also across the globe, providing  families with free support and advice.
